One confidence tip of the day from Molly Burke, CPCC MSU, Queen of Confidence: EXPRESS APPRECIATION
During my long reign as Queen of Confidence I have witnessed many triumphs and tragedies of confidence played out before me. Periodically I’ll be sharing what I hope shall be pithy insights which are intended to act as cautionary tales and inspirational anecdotes as well as practical tools for improving one’s own sense of confidence. You’ll also find powerful questions, confidence tasks and useful affirmations included from time to time, meant to enhance your own sense of confidence. These tips will be shared sporadically, as the inspiration moves me. Keep coming back, because you never know what I’ll say. So there. Neener.
Your Confidence Tip of the Day:
The ability to express appreciation spontaneously is a compelling hallmark of the truly confident. Cultivating this skill is important for those that wish to become truly accomplished practitioners of confidence.
Some easy to do guidelines for giving great compliments:
- Engage in the art of honest appreciation.
- Seek to elevate and expand your present expressions of appreciation.
- Give them freely to strangers as well as to those you know.
- Be generous with your heartfelt praise.
Give honest compliments frequently. You will find that the world around you becomes more beautiful, friendlier and cooperative when you do. Everyone loves genuine appreciation. Do not grandstand while you do these things. Do them quietly and with compassionate subtlety. This will increase your good karma as it increases your confidence.
Confidence is stronger in yourself when you encourage it in others. This kind of personal generosity conveys surety of Self naturally and effortlessly.
Affirmation: “I <your name>, increase my own sense of self worth through active appreciation of others.”
Confidence task: Give genuine compliments to 3 strangers and express appreciation to 5 friends every day for a week.
